The Brotherhood of Badasses
Nicknames: The Brotherhood, The Badasses, BoB
Location: Earth; HQ in West City
Alignment: Good
Type of Alliance: Secret Protection
Requirements: Must be aligned Neutral or Good to be a member of the Brotherhood. Can have any pl, but be warned that most group threads will have main villains tailored towards the stronger members. Must be willing to defend Earth and ready to defend it at any time. Character must have met at least one member of the group.
Description: What was once a flashy, Avengers-esque alliance that was located in South City is now...gone. At least, that's what most people think. After the BoB tower in South City was demolished, that seemed to be the end of the alliance.
An alliance known for their tech, the Brotherhood actually did not cease to exist after the tower went down. In fact, they just became better. With the disappearance of Shadic, leader Big Shot moved the BoB from the likes of "flashy" and to the likes of "dim"(?). Known only to the members of the Brotherhood, the alliance's HQ is now underground.
With updated technology to prevent against another AI outbreak, Big Shot's very own database, and dozens of surveillance methods, the Brotherhood is ready to defend without anybody really knowing it.
Think of this group as the Men in Black, secret service, FBI, CIA, SI:7, TMNT, Batmans, or whatever else is kind of secretive but does defending or stuff idk. Each member is given his or her (or its) own bluetooth device and the stronger members receive a RCWristD. This device allows members to communicate. Along with that, the device has a scouter-like lens that can slide out of the base device. The lens covers the wearer's eye and gives them access to a map, internet, facial recognition, and alerts them of an incoming attack on Earth or somewhere on Earth. The RCWristD gives members the ability to take control of any Brotherhood drone: surveillance or offense.
Big Shot's surveillance drones are always patrolling the planet, making sure no crazy super powered person begins a reign of terror. These drones, when scouting, send video and audio footage back to the HQ.
History:
At first, there was no Brotherhood or any organization to take on the task of defending Earth. Instead, a bunch of superpowered aliens roamed the skies, causing terror or preventing it. Big Shot, who was not yet president, noticed that the heroes of Earth were getting strong. Very strong. The power radiating from Earth was at an all-time high, and it was still growing by the day. He feared that, because of how strong he and a few other were becoming, a much stronger alien threat would come seeking a challenge. Rogue heroes were no good if they were not strong enough to defeat such a threat, and hence, the Brotherhood of Badasses was formed.
Big Shot gathered two young fighters whose powers were growing exponentially: Reku and Shadic. These two had already proven themselves to be capable fighters, and because of how quickly their powers were rising, they were strong enough to fend for themselves if necessary. He took them to South City, the original location of the BoB headquarters. Here, the alliance could plan missions, train, hang out, or do whatever else they wanted.
After a few months of operation, and the Brotherhood became more of a brotherhood, things were looking up for the group. They had not yet been faced with a real threat yet, that is, until they fought Majin Xan. Reku and Shadic were out on a scouting mission when they were met with this aggressive Majin. The duo made short work of him, but not before he could send a distress signal to a much stronger, more dangerous Majin known as Gray.
Shadic and Reku knew they would need to recruit and train if they wanted any chance of defeating this upcoming foe. In their efforts, they found a young prospect by the name of Tadeo. Tadeo assisted the duo in their first encounter with the robotic menace known as Automa, which proved his value to the Brotherhood.
While all of this was happening, Big Shot was having his own problems. He started developing various mental disabilities, including cronic depression and scitzoprenia. To cope with this, he split his personality into two: Big Shot and Raiden. This split was the first major step in the downfall of the Brotherhood. In this time, a Saiyan woman by the name of Runi came to Earth and stole the heart of Reku. The couple eventually had a child in secret by the name of Riku.
After further training, a time traveling version of Riku appeared to warn everybody how much of a threat Gray truly was. He was capable of literally defeating the entire Brotherhood without breaking a sweat. Hearing this, Shadic took his training to overdrive, often going weeks before being seen by his friends again.
During Shadic's intense training, tensions were rising between Big Shot and Reku. In an effort to defend his girlfriend from the hands of Raiden, Reku was humiliated and driven to the brink of insanity. He no longer cared about the Gray threat or anything else, he just wanted revenge. Reku wanted to separate himself from everything he knew, starting with Runi and Riku. Big Shot managed to protect the Saiyan mother and her son, losing an arm in the process. Being Big Shot, he later had the arm replaced, but the injury made Reku's message clear: he was serious.
In the following days, Reku's rage had overwhelmed him. He took out his anger on a small village in the middle of nowhere, which is where he and Shadic met for one of the last times. Shadic, being the white knight he is, did his best to talk down his friend before a fight broke out. Unfortunately, the rage pumping through Reku's veins took priority over his other feelings and the two human/saiyan hybrids broke out into a fight. Neither one left the battle with substainsial injuries, mostly because they were both holding back, but the message was clear: Reku was gone. It was even more clear when Reku actually disappeared from the face of the Earth.
Once Reku was gone, Shadic did his best to find the lost hero. In his search, he did bring in an angel named Vaetus. This angel had knowledge about Majins that could only benefit the heroes. And finally...the majin appeared.
The fight was not even close. Big Shot, Shadic, Tadeo, Vaetus, and some other heroes of Earth were no match for the power of Gray. This, of course, made the heroes realize how much stronger they still needed to become before they even had a chance against this menace.
Now there was a new rivalry within the Brotherhood. Inside of Tadeo was a demon, meaning he and Vaetus were sworn enemies. In a battle, Tadeo managed to defeat and kill Vaetus. Shadic suspected Tadeo was also killed in the battle, but there was no way to confirm that suspicion.
Fortunately, Reku made his way back from wherever he went to. His mind was clearer and he no longer wanted to kill everybody. Now all he felt was remorse, but his anger was just stowed away deep inside. Reku discovered his family had been taken in by Big Shot. Tensions immediately started rising between the two again.
While the two were butting heads, Shadic was the only one keeping the Brotherhood in check. He was the glue holding everything together. Naturally, something happened to him. He was kidnapped by somebody or something, leaving the Brotherhood unattended. During Shadic's abscence, Big Shot became president. After pressure from the media to officially shut down the Brotherhood, he did as he was told, kind of. Secretly, he created a new Brotherhood, hidden beneath West City.
Of course, he could not focus a lot of energy on the new Brotherhood because he had a lot on his plate. Big Shot only became more stressed because of his presidential duties, and the feud with Reku did not help any. After a while, Big Shot just stopped trying to rebuild the Brotherhood, seeing as he had bigger issues to worry about than a dying alliance.
Still, he left the technology involved activated and ready to go just in case he wanted to return to it. Now, the world is in the second Dark Age. All of the heroes and fighters seemingly went into hiding as the government made it their objective to shut them down. The way the government sees it: without them, Earth will not be a target to the powerful aliens. Big Shot is safe from targeting because he is unsensible, meaning no aliens can be atrracted to him. This is the case for all powerful beings who cannot be sensed by pl scanners or natural ki sense, mostly because the government cannot find them.
Of course, Shadic is not done protecting his planet. He did return from his kidnapping coma, but in secret, and now he operates out of East City. Using his trusty Brotherhood drone--which he named Oracle--his Brotherhood scouter, and a prototype RCWristD which he managed to steal from Big Shot's mansion, the hyrbid continues his goal of defending Earth. Secretly, he wishes another powerful fighter will appear, friend or foe. He misses the good old days, but hope is not lost. People are still out there, they just need to make it known.
